UJJAIN: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was caught in a strange situation when he visited the Mahakaleshwar temple at Ujjain.

Several women cornered him, complaining that their shops that were decades' old had been removed from the premises.

They said that the civic body was unnecessarily targeting them and had pushed them out of their work.

One of the women, along with her kid, ran after Chief Minister and even held his kurta. Chouhan was visibly in an uncomfortable situation as other women too poured out their frustration.

They rued that they were now unable to run household before this sudden action. Most of these women used to sell flowers and paraphernelia required for puja at the temple.

The Chief Minister promised them that he would ensure that they were not hit because of the municipal corporation's decision to evict their shops from the campus.

Some women had even fell on Shivraj's feet. Later, Chouhan asked Ashish Singh, the municipal comissioner, to send a report on the eviction order. He said that the report should be sent within a week.
