Bhopal: Statewide road blockade by farmers on Saturday, Madhya Pradesh police on alert

BHOPAL: For nine days, Madhya Pradesh has witnessed huge protests by farmers and the violence has spread to many districts.

However, police are on the alert on the eve of statewide road blockades that are planned for Saturday.

The farmers' unions have given a call for 'chakka jam' on June 10.

Several companies of CRPF and SSB are deployed apart from Madhya Pradesh police. Violence continues across the State. On Friday, there were violent protests at Phanda in Bhopal. 

Earlier, on Indore-Bhopal road chartered buses were burnt. Trucks are being burnt all Malwa region. There have been attacks on police stations and policemen in Mandsaur, Dewas and Ratlam among other districts.

After the statewide agitation, the unions are going for 'Jail Bharo' agitation which would start a day later. For several days farmers' agitation was going on in Madhya Pradesh. But after, six farmers were killed in police firing in Mandsaur, the protests turned more violent.
