Bihar youths among three engineering students drown in dam in Bhopal, bodies recovered
BHOPAL: In a tragic incident, three engineering students drowned in a water body in Bhopal.
Two of these youths belonged to Bihar.
The youths had gone to the dam after the semester examination got over.
Sonu Kumar, 19, hailed from Begusarai while Piyush Ranjan belonged to Patna. The third Ankit is a native of Ujjain. The incident occurred at Ghoda Pachhad dam in Bilkhiria in Bhopal.
Piyush and Sonu put their foot into the water but misjudged the depth. As they began drowning, their friend Ankit rushed to save them. But he also got drowned. Local residents say that they warn students against setting food into water but they don't listen.
The bodies were fished out later. The deceased's kin have been informed about the incident. The Bilkhiria police have registered a case in this regard and is investigating the case.
