BSF personnel arrested for rape attempt with 5-yr-old-girl, arrested

BHOPAL: A Border Security Force (BSF) personnel has been arrested for rape bid with a minor.
The man, Chhote Singh Rajawat, 45, had lured with girl with the promise of toffee to his house in his native place in Bhind.
The kid was playing on the street when the personnel called her to his house. A while later, hearing the screams of the child, local residents got suspicious.
The man had shut the door and it was forcibly opened. Enraged, local residents caught Rajawat and beat him up before handing him to the police.
He was dead drunk, when he was taken to the police station. Subsequently, the police arrested him. Rajawat was posted in Jammu & Kashmir recently. He has been booked and is being questioned.
However, after he was arrested, he remained defiant and warned the local residents. The accused threatened them of dire consequences once he was out on bail.
As the victim is a minor, he has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act also. Police officials said that the information about the case and arrest are being sent to the BSF commandant.
