BHOPAL: A day after superintendent of police (SP) I Kalyan Elesela's comments about activists that led to outrage, Chief Minister Raman Singh has said that stern action will be taken against any officer who crosses the line.

Speaking in the Assembly, Raman Singh said that Chief secretary and DGP should take cognisance of the comment and they should act. "No one would be spared for such behaviour", he further said.

The SP had said that Human Rights activists like Isha Khandelwal and Shalini Gera hould be crushed by vehicles on the streets. He was speaking at an automobile company's launch event .

Pointing at the new model that was launched, he allegedly said that activists should be crushed by such new vehicles. Former Bastar IG SRP Kalluri was also present in this programme.

Today, the issue was raised in the Chhattisgarh Assembly. Responding to it, Dr Raman Singh said that such language is not acceptable. "Action would be taken and no officer would be spared for crossing the line", he said.

Singh said that he has asked for an inquiry in this regard. Congress had raised the issue in the House. However, so far no action has been taken against the officer for the statement.
