BHOPAL: Flustered by the loud volume of music played on DJs at social and other do’s, a class 8 student from Meghnagar in tribal-dominated Jhabua district decided to write an open letter to chief minister Kamal Nath two days ago, seeking control over use of DJs.

However, Himanshu Soni, 13, might have little expected the prompt response that came from the chief minister. Taking cognizance to the letter that was published by local media, the chief minister wrote back a formal letter to Himanshu.

In this letter, Kamal Nath agreed with the young boy that the loud music played by DJs caused trouble to students, particularly during exam time, but also to the elderly people.

The chief minister Kamal Nath further said in the letter to the young boy that rules on timings and volume limits for use of loudspeakers and DJs were already in place. However, he was again directing all the district collectors and superintendents of police to ensure that these rules were strictly implemented across the state.

The CM said that strict action would be initiated on anyone found flouting the rules in this regard.
