BHOPAL: A police constable faced departmental action for stopping a legislator's SUV.

The four-wheeler didn't have a number plate. Also, there were dark tinted glasses.

After an argument, the legislators SUV went away without getting penalised, but, action was taken on the constable.

This incident occurred when BJP MLA from Ujjain, Satish Malviya, had come to Bhopal on Thursday evening.

The SUV was passing by Ganesh Mandir when the traffic policeman Shamsher Singh, who was posted at the spot waved at the SUV and asked the driver to park it on the road side.

The constable said that there would be penalty as the vehicle didn't have number plate and there were dark tinted glasses. Sources said that there was an altercation between policeman and the MLA.

This angered the legislator, who called up senior officials and complained to them about the policeman's 'behaviour'. The traffic police officials on the spot refuted the charge.

They insist that there was no misbehaviour. But the MLA insisted that the beahviour of the traffic cop was not proper. A police official on the spot said that probably the constable didn't see name plate that bore 'Vidhayak' [legislator] on the car.

The policeman, Singh, was later removed from traffic police wing and attached to the police line. An inquiry has been ordered in this regard on the complaint of the legislator.
