Bhilai/Raipur: Demonetisation didn't spare even internationally renowed Pandwani singer Teejan Bhai.

Teejan Bai had to pawn her jewellery as she didn't have adequate cash.

This incident occurred in Bhilai in Chhattisgarh.

According to police, she had given a gold chain to her secretary to bring cash from jeweller.

However, her secretary Manharan Sarwa allegedly kept part of the money and gave her just Rs 50,000. The gold chain was pawned for Rs 67,000.

When she approached the jeweller, she found that she had been duped. Manharan had kept Rs 17,000 with himself. Teejan Bai later approached the police station and lodged a former complaint.

"We have registered an FIR in this regard. Manharan has been booked for fraud", said Inspector Surendra Swarnakar at the Bhatti police station. Photo courtesy: itimes.com
