BHOPAL: Two former chief ministers could soon be rehabilitated as Governors. The BJP is contemplating to have the two Governors, hoping that ttheir castes would help it send a positive message in poll-bound states.

Anandiben Patel who resigned as Gujarat CM could be the next MP governor, as Ramnaresh Yadav' sterm ends next month. Ramnaresh Yadav was also booked in Vyapam scam.

Former MP Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, a Yadav leader, could be made Uttar Pradesh Governor, said party sources.

The move is aimed at placating the caste groups too. After failure to deal with Patel agitation and the Dalit anger in Gujarat, Anandiben Patel had to quit as Gujarat CM.

But, rehabilitating her would go well with the Patel voters in her state. Babulal Gaur, an ex-CM was Home Minister in Shivraj cabinet, but was asked to resign because of his age.

However, the disgruntled leader's statements have been hurting the party and the government. BJP is also eyeing Yadav vote in UP and hence his name is being considered, said insiders. Babulal Gaur belongs to UP and had made MP his home. He became chief minister of Madhya Pradesh after Uma Bharti. But was later replaced by Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
