BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh police have arrested five persons for alleged involvement in terror-funding case linked to Pakistan's ISI.

The Crime Branch has arrested these accused--Balram Singh, Bhagvendra Singh, Shubham Tiwari and Sunil Singh. The name of the fifth person is yet to be ascertained.

Two of these persons, Balram and Bhagvendra were arrested two years ago, as well, when the first such case had come to fore in the Vindhya region of Madhya Pradesh.

The police had been keeping an eye on the activities of the suspects and arrested them from different locations in Satna.  Over a dozen Pakistan SIM cards, laptops and cell phones with numbers of the neighbouring country were recovered from the arrested accused.

The police officials confirmed the arrests and said that the accused were constantly in touch with Pakistan and got money from their sources through bank accounts and transferred the cash to terror suspects. Money was sent to other suspicious persons in the racket in other states through hawala links.

When Balram was arrested in 2017, it was found that an illegal telephone exchange was run. However, he later got bail and was released. Once again, he was arrested in a loot case and got bail. Another accused was also arrested by ATS in the past. The police officials are conducting investigation.
