BHOPAL: The girl who was rusticated by college authorities over a Facebook post, has finally got relief from High Court and would be able to sit in examination.

Asma Khan, an under-graduate science student of Motilal Vigyan Mahavidyalaya (MVM) in Bhopal, was not allowed to hold the event on Bhagat Singh's death anniversary.

The Bhagat Singh Kranti Dal (BKD) used to hold the event every year but earlier this year, the College authorities refused to give permission due to alleged pressure of ABVP.

Accusing the teachers of bowing to pressure, Khan had written a Facebook that criticised the decision and raised question mark on the patriotism of those who could not allow an event to commemorate the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh.

Though the post was later deleted, ABVP leaders demanded action against her. Subsequently, she was rusticated from the college. The incident had created a storm. However, Khan had insisted that there was no question of apologising as she had not taken even a single person's name in the post.

She had also said that she was not allowed to present her case and the decision was taken unilaterally. The emergence of BKD was also being seen as a threat to established students' organisations. Its candidates won in students' council elections too, earlier. Now, the Madhya Pradesh High Court has now termed the rustication order as unjust and allowed her to appear in annual exam.
