Lokayukta police raid clerk's residence in Indore, he turns out to be 'crore-pati'

BHOPAL: The special police establishment (SPE) of Lokayukta conducted raid at a clerk's residence and found illegal assets to the tune of crores.

The raid was conducted at the house of Rajendra Birthare, an employee with Indore Development Authority (IDA).

The SPE had got information that Birthare had amassed assets to the tune of crores, which were diproportionate to his known sources of income.

Six acre land in his son's name apart form 2-1/2 acre land in Maheshwar, one acre land in his wife's name, another one acre land in Sejgaon apart from houses, plots, shop, jewellery and several cars.

The raid is on. The slueths are questioning the family members about the assets. The property is estimated to be worth several crores. Birthare's father was a milk-seller.

The SPE had been tipped that Birthare had acquired huge property. Hence, the raid was conducted today. The family members' lockers and documents of investments are yet to be scanned.
