Minor girl was sold, she got pregnant after sexual abuse, now case registered

RAIPUR: A man allegedly sold his minor daughter in Chhattisgarh. The girl was later sexually exploited by two persons and became pregnant. 

Subsequently, she was abandoned and sent to a shelter home where she gave birth to a child. Now, on the basis of her statement, and the Sakhi centre's report, the police have registered a case in this regard.

This incident occurred in Gharghoda in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. According to reports, the girl who was a minor then, was sold twice by her father. He had sold her to a youth for Rs 3,000. The latter took her along and sexually abused her. Worse, the youth's father also exploited the girl.

When she became pregnant, she was abandoned. The teenaged girl was found roaming on the streets. She was not getting proper food or shelter. Some women informed the Help Line and she was brought to Sakhi One Stop Centre at Raigarh. Later, she was admitted to health centre. It was in the health centre, that she gave birth to a child.

Her condition is much better compared to the past. The Child Protection Officer had sent a report in this regard. Now, the police have registered a case of rape as well as kidnapping. Apart from the two accused, the girl's father has also been booked. Further investigation is on in the case.
