BHOPAL: There is no question of Shivraj Singh Chouhan being made Union defence minister and shifted out of Madhya Pradesh, said MP minister and state government spokesman Narottam Mishra on Wednesday.
“These are all rumours”, he said, reacting to speculations that Shivraj Chouhan would be inducted in the Union ministry, leaving space for the post of chief minister in MP.
For the last couple of days, there were rumours, speculations and even reports on social media and some newspapers that BJP is considering that Shivraj could be next defence minister after Manohar Parrikar.
Even senior BJP leader Faggan Singh Kulaste added fuel to fire when he said that BJP’s base was strong in MP and there would be no damage to the party if Shivraj was made Union minister.
But the BJP leaders have now said that there was no such plan. MP BJP president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that it was not being considered at all.
“The next election in MP too will be fought under Chouhan”, he said. The top BJP leaders in MP said that it should be taken as a joke on Holi and must not be taken seriously.
