Now school children in Madhya Pradesh would be responding to their roll calls with chant of ‘Jai Hind’ instead of ‘yes sir’, ‘yes ma’am’.

The School education minister made this announcement on Sunday evening at the 69th foundation day programme of National Cadet Corps (NCC) at Shaurya Smarak.

He said that the formal order in this regard would be issued by the school education department on Monday (November 27). The decision is for government schools.

It will be followed in more than 1 lakh government schools across MP. Earlier, the rule of ‘Jai Hind’ was introduced in schools of Satna district on an experimental basis. Now, the practice would be extended to all schools in state.

From January 1 this year, the school education department of MP had also made singing of national anthem and hoisting of national flag mandatory from schools.
