Red Terror strikes again: MLA, ex-legislator taken away, hands tied, shot in cold blood

HYDERABAD/VIZAG: A member of legislative assembly (MLA) and a former legislator were killed by Maoists in Andhra Pradesh.
The incident occurred in Araku Valley in Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh.
Kidari Sarveswara Rao, a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator and ex-MLA Siveri Soma, who also belonged to the same party, were murdered.
Armed Maoists overpowered them and asked their companions to leave. Subsequently, they shot dead both the MLAs in cold blood.
The leaders were on t heir wa to attend a villagers' meeting.
They were travelling in two cars along with other party workers when they were stopped. The security personnel of the leaders were asked to hand over their guns and were made to leave.
Tying their hands, Naxals took the two TDP leaders along with them to a distance & shot the duo on the spot. At least, four bullets were shot, hitting them in their chests. They died on the spot.
The local police have registered a case and separate teams have launched a hunt for the killers. However, the incident has raised serious questions about police intelligence and security in the region.
