MUMBAI: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has conducted a raid at the residence of a man linked to right-wing group Sanatan Sanstha in Mumbai.

The ATS team raided the house of Vaibhav Raut lives at Nalasopara in Mumbai.

Explosives and detonators that could be used to assembly nearly two dozen bombs were seized during this raid.

The raid was planned after the ATS got information about explosives kept in the house and shop. This is not the first such occasion when the right-wing extremist group has come under scanner.

Its members have been arrested for bomb blasts in Goa, Thane and several other places in the past. The Sanstha has been linked to several assassinations including murders of high-profile rationalists in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The killings of Govind Pansare, MM Kalburgi, Gauri Lankesh have also been traced to members of the Sanstha. However, despite controversies and allegations of extremist connection, the Sanstha has managed to escape any tough action and a proposal to ban it, was returned during UPA regime.
