SHAME: Union minister Jayant Sinha felicitates, garlands lynching accused in Jharkhand

RANCHI: In a shocking incident, Union minister Jayant Sinha felicitated eight persons who were guilty of lynching a man in Jharkhand. 

Sinha garlanded these men, who have already been convicted of the lynching of Alimuddin Ansari.

The convicts were out on bail when they were felicitated at an event.

The photographs of Sinha, who represents Hazaribagh constituency in the Lok Sabha, along with the murderers, led to an outrage. Opposition parties criticised Sinha for standing and supporting the eight persons who have been held guilty of killing Alimuddin Ansari. 

In fact, when the eight persons who have seured bail form High Court, wen tto his residence, they were welcomed with sweets. Subsequently, they were garlanded. Sinha tweeted later that he has full faith judicial system and that he met members of his constituency. 

Sinha is Union minister of state for civil aviations. On social media too, he faced severe criticism, as to why he honoured the killers and didn't even bother to speak for the lynching victim who also belonged to his constituency.

Sinha's father, Yashwant Sinha, has termed his son 'nalayaq' (useless) after the photographs went viral. Alimuddin Ansari, a meat trader, was killed by cow vigilantes  in June last year.
