Harda:  Strange are the ways in which Madhya Pradesh police works. The latest example is from district Harda where a show cause notice served upon a police inspector for negligence in investigation of a death has literally gone missing.

The matter pertains to the accidental death of Gurmit Saluja, a 20-year-old student who was crushed to death by the fire tender of Harda Municipality.

Following allegations of negligence in investigating the matter and preliminary inquiry, show-cause notices were served upon the then police station in-charge of Harda Kotwali Arvind Raghuwanshi and case investigator BS Chicham (assistant sub-inspector).

The notices were served by the then superintendent of police Prem Babu Sharma.

However, the matter has now taken an interesting turn with Raghuwanshi, now posted in Betul district, denying over telephone to NewsBits.in that he ever got a show cause notice. However, sources said that the other policeman, Chicham had already replied to the notice served to him.

Meanwhile, the current investigator of the case, sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) of Harda, Vinod Shrivastava has said that two reminders have been served to Raghuwanshi for failing to reply to the show cause notice.

The officer told NewsBits.in that the reminders were not received by Raghuwanshi probably as he was on leave. Shrivastava however made clear that in case Raghuwanshi failed to reply to show cause notice, ex-parte action would be initiated.
