Bhopal/Ujjain: In a horrific incident, a man roamed around in a village in Ujjain, carrying the severed head of his wife whom he killed on Tuesday morning. The accused – Narayan Singh Rajput, 38, suspected his wife of infidelity.

The incident occurred in Dhareri village of Badnagar Tehsil. Police got the information that Narayan Singh, son of Kalu Singh was moving around in the village carrying the severed head of his wife Dhana Kunwar, 35.

This struck terror amongst the villagers, who did not dare to approach Narayan Singh, who was also carrying the sword that he used to kill his wife.

The incident brings a shocking recollection of the video grab and photographs of an elderly man in Pune who walked down the roads of Pune carrying the severed head of his wife and murder weapon axe in October 2016 (in accompanying photograph).

In-charge of Hingoria police station, Mohanlal Meena told NewsBits.in that police immediately reached the village and found the beheaded body of the woman in an agriculture field.

The man was found roaming around with the head and sword and was taken into custody.

Prima facie inquiry has revealed that the accused was fed up with talks of infidelity of his wife in the village and decided to take the extreme step. “The accused is not in a condition to talk much and investigations are progressing,” Meena said.

The sub-divisional officer of police (SDOP) Badnagar, Prashant Mukadam said that the initial investigations have revealed that the accused Narayan Singh killed his wife in fit of anger. “Further inquiry is on,” he told NewsBits.in.
