BHOPAL: Although the nationwide outrage on gang rape of a minor in Mandsaur has not yet died down, another incident of rape of a four-year-old girl in Satna district shook Madhya Pradesh on Monday.

The girl was raped allegedly by Mahendra Singh, 27, at Parasmania village, about 40 km from Satna district hospital, late on Sunday night. The accused has been arrested

The condition of the child is said to be critical and she is undergoing treatment at Satna district hospital, police said. The child has been rushed to Delhi by air ambulance, for better treatment now.

The plane took off from Satna air strip on Tuesday afternoon. Outside, the Mahila Congress workers had a clash with the police.

Police said that the survivor was sleeping outside her home with her father  and the father went off to answer nature's call when the accused allegedly took her away. After finding the girl missing, the parents started looking for her and found her injured in a field outside the village.

The father expressed suspicion over Mahendra Singh, a native of neighbouring village, who had come to the survivor's place on Sunday evening. Police detained Singh and during course of interrogation, he confessed to the crime

In another incident, a 12-year-old girl was raped by her maternal uncle in Sala village in Dhar district. The survivor was alone at home on Saturday and the accused molested her after threatening her.

Police registered case against accused Uday Singh, who is a repeat offender and has been in jail earlier on charges of rape. He escaped after raping his nieve and police are searching for him. The condition of the survivor is said to be stable.
