BHOPAL: Students belonging to Madhya Pradesh alone would be eligible for government service in State in future.

The decision in this regard was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Henceforth, youth belonging to MP alone, would be considered eligible for induction in government jobs within Madhya Pradesh.

The chief minister said that an important decision has been taken and only students who belong to the state would get government jobs in the state. He said that rules in this regard would be framed, soon.

In the past also, similar sentiment has been voiced by State leaders. However, Chouhan has now categorically said that just students who belong to MP, would get the government jobs. The announcement doesn't mention the criterion of 'belongingness' or a minimum eligibility--period of staying in state or parents', grandparents' birth, for a candidate to be considered 'local' or domicile.

There has been criticism about failure to provide adequate number of jobs to youth in the state. Interestingly, a large number of government posts, remain vacant in the state. After the announcement, social media was abuzz with the discussion, however, people are awaiting the formal orders.
