After child's death in mishap, mob sets afire vehicle, throws driver into flames in MP

BHOPAL: In yet another case of mob violence, a driver was killed after a mishap in Madhya Pradesh. 

The driver, Magan, was driving a pickup van that hit a girl. 

The victim, Kanji, an 8-year-old, died in the accident that took place in Alirajpur district. 

After the mishap, local residents got angry and set fire to the van. They beat up the driver and later threw him into the burning van. He received burn injuries. After the police arrived on the spot, Magan was rushed to hospital in Dahod. 

But, from Dahod, he was referred to Vadodara. He died on the way. The police are trying to ascertain identities of those who were involved in the mob violence. The girl's last rites were performed in police presence. Of late, there has been a rise in incidents of vigilante justice and mob violence.
