BHOPAL: In a bizarre case, a government doctor has been arrested for bicycle theft spree in Madhya Pradesh.

The man--a government doctor, had been involved in series of cycle thefts and had even been caught stealing cycle in CCTV camera footage.

The accused--Dr Nirmal, has now been sent to jail. The police have recovered seven cycles including many girls' cycles from the house.

The incident occurred in Aishbagh in Bhopal. One after the other cycles were being stolen from near the Comfort Home Apartment. Finally, CCTV was installed. When a complainant Jitendra Chhabra's son lost his cycle, the FIR was registered.

Then another cycle was stolen. The footage showed him taking away the cycle. During the investigation it was found that Dr Nirmal used to take these cycles by train to Vidisha. The CCTV footage also nailed him.

Apart from cycles in the locality, he had also stolen a nurse and a health worker's cycles. When the nurse got to know and confronted him, he returned the cycle to her. The kin said that they tried to dissuade him but he didn't listen.

Later, a police team was sent to Vidisha where he is posted as doctor. The stolen cycles were recovered. The medico's wife is also a doctor. However, during interrogation, the police couldn't find out the motive. He just said that he didn't know why he committed the thefts.
