BAGHPAT/LUCKNOW: A case against Sadhvi Prachi has been booked in connection with her controversial speech, urging Hindus to boycott Muslims who make 'kanwars'.

Prachi, who has earlier also been at the midst of several controversies, had said in Baghpat, that '99% kanwars were made by Muslims'.

They urged Hindus to boycott them and also evict the Muslims so that Hindus can get employment.

The firebrand VHP leader had said that, "Main kahungi, 99% Hindustan ka Muslim, mere desh ke aseem bhakton ke liye kanwar banata hai, Haridwar ke andar yahan se sab bahishkar hona chahiye, inko nikalna chahiye' (quoted verbatim from the video clip).

The speech was made on camera and it was shown on TV channels. It is also available on internet. She appealed to 'kanwariyas' that they should not take 'kanwar' from Muslim artisans. The case was registered in Doghat police station in Meerut district.

After the speech, the police have registered a case under sections 153 [provocation with intent to cause riot], 153(A) and 505(2) apart from 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police officials said that investigation has been initiated in this regard.
