BHOPAL: A superintendent of police (SP) was transferred after a case of attempt to murder was registered against Congress legislator's son in Madhya Pradesh.

The officer--Riyaz Iqbal, has been shifted from Morena and attached to the police headquaters (PHQ).

The action has been taken after legislator Edal Singh Kansana's son Rahul was booked in Morena recently. Rahul was accused of attack at a toll plaza, where he allegedly fired and attacked the employees.

This incident had occurred recently. The legislator had complained that a false case registered against his son. The claim was that under SP's directions, the FIR was registered. In place of Iqbal, Asit Yadav has been sent to Morena and posted as Superintendent of Police (SP).

Apart from Iqbal, two other IPS officers have also been shifted. The opposition has claimed that the Congress government has been busy in transfers and postings, rather than focusing on law-and-order in Madhya Pradesh.

BJP has charged Kamal Nath government of 'running a transfer industry', especially, in wake of the failure of police to secure release of two kids who were abducted from Satna and were later found murdered in Banda in UP.
