Jain girls shun worldly life, take 'deekha' at grand ceremony in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: In a grand event, seven Jain girls took 'deeksha' in Bhind town in Chambal.
All of them were initiated into the order at the ceremony.
The family members gave them 'kamandal' and a few basic things that are required for Sadhvis.
Six of them belong to Panna and one is from Jhansi in UP. Earlier, a grand procession was taken out in the city before the ceremoney began.
Aryika Vibhashri Mataji administered diksha to them at Bhind’s Kirtistambh. They were given new names. The parents of aryikas became emotional while their daughters received diksha.
There was 'kesh lochan' ceremony during which the girls took off their hair, plucking the hair themselves. Most of the girls are well educated and had degrees. The family members said that they took 'deeksha' voluntarily
