Policeman fires at woman cop, then shoots self dead in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL/INDORE: A police inspector fired at a woman police personnel before he shot himself and committed suicide in Indore.

The inspector, Hakam Singh Pawar, died as a result of the injuries.

However, the woman police personnel who got injured, is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Her condition is reported to be stable.

Two gunshots were fired from his service revolver. Police sources said that the incident occurred when Pawar and the woman sub-inspector Ranjana were having coffee together, sitting in the police control room at Indore.

Hakam Singh Pawar, 58, was lying amid blood and the weapon was found lying nearby. Ranjana got a bullet injury but was able to get up. She was immediately rushed to the hospital.The police personnel present on the spot, informed the higher authorities. 

Pawar was posted in Shamla Hills police station in Bhopal. He had to go back to Bhopal to resume his duty, as he had taken three days' leave. However, it is not clear what exactly provoked him so much that he shot at the woman before killing himself. The statement of the injured victim, are yet to be recorded. The police are conducting investigations.
