Religious leaders from all faiths support Covid vaccination drive in Madhya Pradesh

BHOPAL: Around 86 faith based leaders representing different religions and sects participated in faith-based leaders' meet regarding COVID 19 vaccination drive.

They committed their support and took pledge to support the drive. The meet was organised by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Commissioner, Bhopal Municipal Corporation, V.S. Choudhary, spoke to faith based leaders on COVID19 vaccination and sought their support tfor the campaign.

He also spoke on the efforts of Corporation on sanitation, waste management, and promoting COVID19 behaviours.

Dr Padmakar Tripathi, Deputy Director Immunization, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh spoke on the importance of vaccine prioritisation, allayed fears particularly on Adverse events following immunization.

During this meeting, he responded to queries from faith based leaders on several issues, ranging from vaccine safety and priority groups to how the process works, and COWIN app. Additional Commissioner, M.P. Singh, Dr Ravindra Bagal, were among those present with him.

Dr Vandana Bhatia, Health Specialist, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh was also present and spoke at length on the importance of vaccination and the need of appropriate behaviours with regard to Coronavirus, along with Dr Ravindra Bagal, Health Officer, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh.

Anil Gulati, Communication Specialist, UNICEF, Madhya Pradesh facilitated the meet and interaction with faith based leaders along with Janhvi Dubey, Urban Development Consultant facilitated the meet. Participating members also supported their support to Swachata Survey 2021, and appreciated the efforts of Bhopal Municipal Corporation, on waste management.
