Upset over traffic cop's action, youth stabbed policeman who succumbs to injuries in Bhopal

BHOPAL: A policeman who had been attacked by a youth, has succumbed to the injuries. 

Sriram Dubey, who was posted with the traffic wing, was stabbed by Harsh Meena, a resident of Ayodhya Nagar. 

Meena was upset that his bike had been lifted using a crane and then he was slapped penalty of Rs 600. 

Enraged, he attacked Dubey with a knife. The victim got deep wound in the abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital and was undergoing treatment. Initially, it appeared that he would recover and get healed. 

However, it was deep internal injury and his condition suddenly deteriorated. Dubey later succumbed to the wounds. After his death, the police have added the murder charge in this case. Harsh was already arrested and taken in custody, send to judicial remand.

He is in jail. The incident had occurred earlier this month. Traffic police sub-inspector Sriram Dubey had got the bike lifted from Jyoti Talkies and sent to MP Nagar police station premises. After Harsh reached police station, he showed documents and got the challan receipt.

But then, all of a sudden, he attacked Dubey. After the incident, he tried to escape also. But, he was chased, overpowered and arrested. The injuries were internal and despite efforts, Dubey could not be saved. The police said that murder case has been registered and investigation is on.
