Jhabua nuns' gang rape case: Absconder arrested after 21-year-long hunt

BHOPAL: The police have arrested one of the main accused in connection with the infamous Jhabua nuns' rape case, after a period of 21 years.

The accused--Kalu Limji, 45, had left his hometown and was living in hiding in another town. The police team had got a tip-off and arrested him on the pretext of offering free house to poor under a government scheme.

Hence, he told his real name and was arrested. The gang rape had taken place on September 23, 1998. A group of locals had entered the Church at Kalyanpura in Nawapara Bhandaria, and had gang-raped four nuns. Most of the accused, except two--Kalu Limji and Bachchu Singh, had been arrested.
