Bhopal: Retired police officers recall Karkare's sacrifice, say no one has right to insult martyrs

BHOPAL: A host of retired police officials including former director general of police (DGP) NK Tripathi took out a march in memory of former Mumbai ATS chief, late Hemant Karkare.

The candle light vigil was organised at the Lal Parade ground. The retired police officials said that no one has the right to insult a martyr. They said that it was unfortunate that a person like Hemant Karkare's name was being dragged in petty politics.

Tripathi said that they had gathered to commemorate the sacrifice of Karkare and affirm that the martyrs can never be forgotten. There has been strong criticism over BJP's Bhopal Lok Sabha candidate Pragya Thakur's comments regarding the former Maharashtra ATS chief who had lost life in the terror attack on Mumbai.
