Murshidabad murders: Case cracked, Utpal Behra arrested from Sahapur

KOLKATA: The police have arrested Utpal Behra, the main accused in the case of the murder of a couple and their child in Murshidabad.

Behra has been arrested from Sahapur in West Bengal. The police officials said that Behra killed the family over a monitory dispute.

Bandhu Prakash Pal, 35, his pregnant wife, Beauty and eight-year-old son Angan were found murdered in their house in Jiaganj in Murshidabad. The crime was committed on October 8 during Pujo festivities.

The case had hit national headlines. Police said Behra had paid money to Pal and latter gave receipt of only one of the amount (meant for one insurance policy), not the other.

This led to the altercation between Pal and Behra. During interrogation, Behra said that Pal humiliated him and as he felt insulted, he decided to teach him the lesson and took the revenge.
