Lawmaker's cleanliness lesson: Picks broom, sweeps classroom himself

BHOPAL: A legislator gave a practical lesson in cleanliness along with a stern warning to the staff of a government girls' higher secondary school in MP.

Jajpal Singh Jajji, an MLA, took up a broom and cleaned up the classrooms along with chief municipal officer to express his displeasure over the cleanliness condition in the school in Ashok Nagar.

Not only this, he made the non-teaching personnel responsible for the job, to sit on a chair while sweeping the floor himself. Jajpal Singh then warned the staff to take cleanliness and responsibilities seriously.

The MLA's action came after the girl students of all the classes complained of poor cleanliness condition. Jajji, a Congress MLA, had gone to take feedback from the students two weeks after his inspection of the school.

During his inspection, he had issued instructions for improvement in school infrastructure. While whitewash was done and light put up, cleanliness remained poor, the girls told him.
