BHOPAL: "The Narendra Modi-led BJP government is celebrating the completion of its three years in office but the truth is that it has failed on all fronts—hundreds of army men have lost their lives at the borders apart from civilians while Naxals continue to kill the jawans".

“578 army personnel have lost lives while 877 citizens died in three years at the border. Besides, 271 jawans have been killed by Maoists”, said senior Congress leader and party's national spokesperson Raj Babbar, while addressing journalists here on Wednesday.

“The national security is endangered and internal security is also compromised. Only BJP seems to be celebrating these three years. Are families of these jawans who achieved martyrdom, are part of this celebration?”, he asked.

"Such has been the present regime's policy that our traditional neighbours are now against us. Even Russia, which never sold weapons to Pakistan, is now conducting joint army exercise with them”, the famed Bollywood actor said.

“There is a vacancy of 9,000 officers, 25,000 junior officers and over 52,000 jawans in army. The defence budget has been curtailed and there is lack of adequate weapons even when government has failed miserably in diplomacy. There have been 1,343 ceasefire violations by Pakistan in Kashmir”, he said.

“Where are the promised 2 crore jobs. The fact is that traders, workers, farmers, youth are all suffering in this government. Jobs in IT are diminishing and foreign countries are not giving visa to our youths”.

He said that the BJP-PDP government in Jammu & Kashmir has been a disaster and the polling percent reached an all-time low of 7%. Babbar said that BJP government is indulging in empty phrases, chest-thumping and TV studio warfare at a time when the situation at the borders is alarming.
