Bhopal: The state unit of Aam Aadmi Party launched a two-pronged attack on BJP government in state on Friday on two raging issues of price hike of essential commodities and holding of office of profit by two ministers.

The AAP activists put up a stall of tomatoes at the busy Bittan Market of Bhopal to symbolically protest the sharp rise in prices of commodities like pulses (daal), tomatoes, potatoes and other vegetables.

The state secretary of AAP, Akshay Hunka said that on one side the farmers are facing tough time as they are not getting proper price for their produce and on other the common people have to face sharp price rise. “All the while, the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who calls himself son of farmer, is shedding crocodile tears. The government has failed to control prices,” he said.

He added that the government is only helping the middlemen, but AAP would keep raising voice of people and bring to open the link between government and middlemen.

OFFICE OF PROFIT

Demanding that the membership of state assembly of two ministers Paras Jain and Deepak Joshi should be scrapped as they are holding offices of profit, the AAP unit on Friday also submitted a complaint to the office of chief electoral office of MP.

The AAP has said that school education minister Jain is the commissioner of scouts and guides while minister of state Deepak Joshi is vice-chairman of same organization. They both thus hold offices of profit and according to rules their MLA status should be scrapped.

Later in day, the additional chief electoral officer SS Bansal forwarded the AAP complaint to the secretary of the Election Commission of India for proper action.
