Bhopal: The state administration and the holy city of Ujjain are geared up for the major holy congregation 'Simhastha Kumbha'. The mega religious fest would roll out on Thursday midnight (intervening April 21 and 22) with Shahi Snan by 13 different akhadas of saints.
Bathing ghats are all prepared across 8.5km long banks of River Kshipra in Ujjain. The saints attached with akhadas would bathe at the Ram Ghat and Datta Akhada Ghat while other ghats are open to common devotees for the first mega bathing ritual.
Massive preparations have got into the Simhastha with temporary satellite township coming up in Ujjain and over 7 lakh people already reaching the city to participate in the event. Railways have launched special train services from different places including capital Bhopal.
Tight security arrangements and elaborate civic facilities have been put in place, especially keeping in view the hot weather. The Meteorological Department has also launched special Simhastha related weather update section on its website www.imdbhopal.gov.in. Devotees are advised to seek update on weather before proceeding to Simhastha.
