Bhopal: Acid attack on teacher in Arera Colony, motorcycle-borne attacker escapes

BHOPAL: In a shocking incident, acid was thrown at a woman teacher in Arera Colony.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning. The victim  who hails from Seoni.

She was attacked when she was on way to the private college in Kolar, where she is a teacher. 

According to police, the victim, Shailja, 24, lives in a rented house in E-4 enclosure in Arera Colony.

A motorcycle-borne man threw acid at her and escaped. The acid fell on her hands, feet and other parts of the body.

"She came back running and said Aunty, save me, acid has been thrown at me", said the victim's landlord. Subsequently, the victim was rushed to the hospital.

The victim has received multiple burn injuries. However, as she had covered her face, it was saved. The police have begun investigation. There is no clue about the assailants. The victim's statement is yet to be recorded. [Photo courtesy: Bhaskar.com]
