Bhopal: A young woman, postgraduate student with local Barkatullah University, stabbed her boyfriend to death in the wee hours of Sunday in Saket Nagar locality in state capital. She suspected him of infidelity.
The woman, Yogeshwari Kahar alias Mantu, was in relationship with the victim Vibhash Kaneria since last eight to nine years, police sources have said. The college girl reportedly stayed with the dead body for several hours and was seen roaming around in the locality during early morning hours after the murder.
She later went home and went about her daily routine normally. When police reached Yogeshwari’s room in BHEL area, she reportedly tried to stab herself and also doused herself with petrol, but police arrested her and took her away before she could do anything untoward, police sources said.
Yogeshwari, a MA student with BU, was Vibhash’s second or third cousin. They were in a long relationship and also lived together previously sources said. Lately, Yogeshwari had come to know that Vibhash, a property dealer, was having relationship with another woman.
They had tiff over the matter and the accused stayed with Vibhash in his room in Saket Nagar on Saturday night to sort out the matter. However, things seemed to have gone bad as Yogeshwari stabbed her boyfriend in the wee hours. Police are investigating the matter further.
