BHOPAL: The four accused who had gang raped a UPSC aspirant in Bhopal recently, have been sentenced to life.

Judge Savita Dubey held them guilty and awarded life sentence to them.

The four accused Golu, Rajesh, Ramesh and Amar have been sentenced in less than two months of the crime.

The girl was gang raped when she left coaching institute and was on way towards home. Near Habibganj railway station, she was waylaid and taken to a desolate spot where she was raped.

There was outrage in Bhopal after the crime. Though her parents are police officials, FIR was not written in GRP and Habibganj police stations when she went to lodge the complaint.

The judgement in this case has come in a record time, in less than two months. All the accused were arrested in the first week of November and later put on trial.

The fast track court began conducting hearing. The prosecution put up the case along with scientific evidences and the accused have now been convicted.
