Bhopal: A major scandal has hit the DB City Mall in capital Bhopal with a fashion brand showroom salesman caught while attempting to shoot video of a girl in a changing room.

Now, the accused has claimed that such practice was common in various showrooms in the mall – located in heart of the city.

On Friday, the accused salesman of United Colours of Benetton (UCB) showroom in DB City Mall was caught after a girl – daughter of an IAS officer – spotted a cell phone in the crack of the door of the changing room.

She called her father to the mall and then the accused Raghunath alias Raghu, 22, a native of Bareli in Raisen, was handed over to the MP Nagar Police.

Sources said that the accused salesman has told police that he attempted the shoot the video in ladies changing room of the DB Mall for the first time. However he claimed that salesmen of other clothing showrooms often shot such videos stealthily and he was inspired by them.

Police is reportedly interrogating the accused further in this regard to ascertain the authenticity of his claims. Also his cell phone is being put to forensic examination to find out whether he had indulged in similar activity in past, sources said.

In the past, the DB Mall had a brush with controversy when the security staff of Hyper City has misbehaved with a tribal Congress MLA and detained him in 2012. In 2011, a doctor had alleged extortion of a cell phone and Rs 5500 in cash by Hyper City staff in DB Mall.
