BHOPAL: Loud chants of 'Jai Jai Shri Ram' filled the air in Madhya Pradesh assembly.

The Congress legislators were chanting the slogan on this occasion.

Till now, Jai Shri Ram has been the slogan of BJP workers all over the country.

But the Congress, in an apparent attempt to snatch the agenda from BJP, and get popular support from the majority community, has decided to follow the Saffron party.

The slogans were raised when newly elected MLA Neelanshu Chaturvedi, who won on Congress ticket from Chitrakoot after the bypoll, took oath. Congress leaders led by Mukesh Naik raised the slogan 'Jai Jai Shri Ram'.

The entire Congress legislators' group too began chanting the slogan, loudly. The BJP members were not to lag behind. They too raised the slogan again and again.

While BJP leaders took jibe at Congress and said that finally party realised that Lord Rama would be their saviour too. However, Congress leaders said that Lord Rama belonged to everyone.

In Madhya Pradesh, Congress has been trying to follow a policy of soft-Hindutva lately. In Congress office, the Ganesha idol was installed and all other festivals celebrated in a big way to give the message that it was a party of Hindus (too) and not just BJP can claim to be representing them.
