Cricket coach booked for sodomy bid, earlier Karate coach was arrested for sexual harassment

BHOPAL: A coach allegedly attempted to sodomize a minor boy in Harda. According to police sources, the minor's kin have lodged an FIR in this regard.

The incident has come close on heels of another such case in which a karate coach was booked. Besides, another trainer was made a co-accused in the same case.

The family has accused the coach, Mahmood Qureshi, 45, of sodomizing bid with the boy. Police official, Pankaj Tyagi, who heads Kotwali police station, said that the coach had called the minor boy for match in a cricket tournament. The boy who hails from a village in Dewas, came to Harda.

However, later in the night, the coach took the boy along to his house and asked the boy to sleep along with him. Subsequently, he attempted to commit unnatural sexual act. The boy resisted and later escaped from the place.

He returned home and informed the family members. They approached the police and lodged complaint. Acting on the report, the police have booked Qureshi.

He has been charged with unnatural sexual act and criminal intimidation. The accused has been rounded up. He is being questioned. The police are conducting investigation in this regard. The boy’s statement has been recorded.

Earlier, a case of sexual harassment by two coaches had come to light in Harda a few weeks ago. A well-known karate coach and referee was charged of similar crime.

On the complaint of a girl, the coach Neelesh Sen was booked in two different cases of rape and sexual harassment and atrocities against SC/ST persons. In the case of rape, another accused Yusuf Mansoori had been booked too. The arrests were made in that case too.
