Gwalior: Youths' harassment drives teenaged girl to commit suicide

BHOPAL: A teenaged girl committed suicide in Gwalior on Thursday. 

The girl, Babita, 18, hanged herself by the ceiling fan in her house, said police. 

She was upset because of regular harassment by youths in the locality, said sources. The incident occur after a schoolgirl burnt self in Tikamgarh because of similar incident. 

Family members said that a group of four youths kept harassing the girl--stalking and passing comments over her. 

Babita was a student of XIIth standard. She was disturbed by the constant attention and the comments. On Thursday, she committed suicide. 

Earlier, a schoolgirl committed self-immolation in Tikamgarh in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. She poured kerosene on self and set herself afire. She has suffered 90% burns and her condition is extremely critical. She was also stalked daily when she went to school by youths.
