BHOPAL: A horrific case of police brutality has occurred in Madhya Pradesh.   

The policemen tortured a man and inserted a baton in his rectum.   

This incident has occurred in Bargawan police station in Singrauli district.  

The victim was critically injured and had to be rushed to hospital in adjoining Uttar Pradesh (UP). Suggalal Vaish, was picked up from his house late in the night and brought to the police station.   

In detention, he was brutally thrashed and later the baton was inserted in his rectum.  The man fell unconscious. As his condition deteriorated, he had to be rushed to hospital. There was severe bleeding and the victim was later referred to Varanasi.    

Superintendent of police (SP) Rudolph Alwares has taken disciplinary action. Axe has fallen on the town inspector Rakesh Sahu. Three constables--Chhatrapati Singh, Pawan Verma and Ravi Verma, have been suspended. A case has been registered against them. The police have ordered a probe.
