BHOPAL: A minor girl was raped and later burnt alive in Madhya Pradesh.

This incident occurred in Jujharpura in Sagar district of the State.

According to police, the body of a 16-year-old girl was found in a badly burnt state on Thursday evening.

The victim was gang raped and later she was set afire. On the basis of the statement of the girl's family, the police have registered a case.

Two persons, Ravindra Kumar, and Bhagat, have been caught and are being interrogated. The police officials said that investigation is on to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Home minister Bhupendra Singh has asked police to take tough stern action against the culprits. Meanwhile, the opposition has attacked the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government for its failure to prevent crimes against women and girls.

MP Congress chief Kamal Nath has said that crimes against girls continue and the state is getting shamed but the Chief Minister is more interested in political role--from Karnataka elections to national politics, rather than checking the deteriorating law-and-order situation.
