BHOPAL: Two journalists who exposed policemen's corruption were brutally beaten up in police custody in Satna.

They were made to lick shoes, they were threatened and were also framed in false case of Arms Act.

The journalists had shot a video showing policemen extorting from truckers on highway apart from the local police personnel's nexus with the bookies.

This incident occurred in Amarpatan in Satna district. Inspector Vijay Singh allegedly reached the house of journalist Narendra Patel and placed a country-made revolver in the latter's house in order to frame the journalist.

Later, the inspector reached the other journalist, Jitendra Soni's house, and reportedly told him to give a false statement that he had helped Patel in getting the gun. When Soni refused, the policemen allegedly threatened him of dire consequences and left the place, claim the journos.

On Monday, the inspector along with over half-a-dozen policemen reached the house, dragged Narendra from his house and took him to police station. Here, the journalist was stripped, brutally beaten, made to lick the inspector's shoes.

Apart from Patel, Soni was also tortured. As the news spread, local journalists reached the police station. Top officials were informed in Bhopal too. The injured journalists were admitted to hospital. Later, the minister ordered action.

An FIR has been registered against the erring policemen. The inspector has reportedly been booked. All the seven policemen who were involved in the incident, have now been suspended. The MP government has ordered a probe in this regard.
