BHOPAL: In a major development, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur was acquitted in the infamous Sunil Joshi murder case on Wednesday.

Pragya Thakur, a right-wing terror suspect, was acquitted along with seven others in the case.

All of them were charged of conspiracy to kill Sunil Joshi, a right-wing terror suspect, who was killed nearly a decade ago.

The court acquitted all of them because of lack of evidence. Pragya Thakur, who is an accused in Malegaon blast case, was also accused in Sunil Joshi murder case.

Joshi was shot in Dewas in MP in 2007. NIA had investigated the case as it was suspected that he was a key player in the right-wing extremists' group and was involved in Samjhauta Express blast also.

But later NIA said that it was a murder case and the motive was personal enmity. The court today delivered its judgment. Pragya Thakur and seven others were acquitted. She is right now lodged in Bhopal central jail.
