IAS officer tests positive for Coronavirus, bureaucrats who attended meetings with him, in quarantine

BHOPAL: An officer of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has tested positive for Covid 19 in Madhya Pradesh.

The officer who is posted with the Health Directorate, was tested at the AIIMS in Bhopal. The sample turned out to be Coronavirus positive.

As the official was working and constantly attending meetings, other officers and even top politician(s) who came in contact, have gone in quarantine.

A top health bureaucrat has said that the officer who tested positive is in hospital but his fever is down now. The bureaucrat was working for long hours and was holding review meetings apart from interacting with health staff and other officials, hence, the precautions are being taken by others who came in contact.

Indore has recorded the highest number of Covid 19 suspects in the state. Besides, a suspect organised a 'terahvi' event in Morena and hundreds attended it, resulting in more cases in the region.
