Coronavirus cases hit 1 lakh mark in India, Maharashtra accounts for 35,000

The number of Coronavirus cases in India that have been detected so far, has crossed the 1,00,000 mark. From the first case that was detected on January 30, the graph has gone up steadily.


More than 4,500 cases have been detected in a single day on Monday. While India has crossed the figure of 1 lakh, Maharashtra alone accounts for over 35,000 cases. 


Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Delhi are at second, third and fourth place. While Tamil Nadu and Gujarat have more than 11,000 cases each, Delhi has crossed 10,000 mark.


Maharashtra that accounts for 35% of cases in the country, has registered 20,000 cases in Mumbai alone.Of the 1 lakh cases, India has seena recovery of over 39,206 patients. There are 57,926 cases. The figure of death is 3,155. Among other states, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan have registered more than 5,000 cases so far. [May 18, 2020 NewsBits.in]
